Taree locals love where they live. They love no traffic jams. They love their river, their beaches, their mountains, their community, their culture, their great schools, their lower housing prices and higher standard of living. They also love their thriving business community and fantastic career opportunities.
They love Taree and you will too.
Taree is not just a great place to live, it’s a great place to work, a great place to do business, a great place to raise a family, a great place to educate your family, a great place to start a business and a great place to grow a business.

Our town’s name Taree comes from the Aboriginal word Djarii, meaning Figtree. Djarii is pronounced the same as ‘Taree’ and you’ll see plenty of our big fig trees along the river and throughout our town. Taree is situated on the banks of the Manning River in the heart of the beautiful Manning Valley.
Our lifestyle is the envy of many — you can surf, hike, horse ride, fish, ride, row, swim or paddle board every morning and comfortably make it to work without the traffic or congestion. With a population of over 26,000, Taree is a thriving regional hub where the locals love where they live.
