DR KRISHAN GUPTA

RESPIRATORY AND SLEEP SPECIALIST AT MANNING HOSPITAL

Dr Gupta and his family moved to Taree for only 12 months. But now, they never want to leave.

Dr Krishan Gupta moved to Taree initially for one year to experience rural life and to practice medicine in a regional area. But now, he never wants to leave. ‘Since we moved to Taree both myself and my family just love this place. The work life balance is great and we just decided to stay in Taree’ says Krishan.

The Gupta family moved to Taree to find a better work/life balance and have found a lot more than they expected.

‘Professionally, the move has been very good for me’ says Dr Gupta. A doctor who specialises in respiratory and sleep medicine, he has found the medical facilities and resources in the to be among the best in the country. Krishan loves the flexibility of working in both the Manning Base Hospital and the Mayo Private Hospital. According to Dr Gupta, ‘both the hospitals have great staff and great support, the patient gets looked after very well. I wouldn’t have asked for anything better’.

And it’s not just work-life that has improved for Dr Gupta, but his family life has really blossomed since moving to Taree. With little or no traffic compared to the city, he has discovered that there is so much else you can do with your time. Krishan explains ‘before we moved to Taree my time spent commuting was particularly onerous. Taree is a walk in the park’.  And what does Krishan do with this extra time? ‘I can take my kids to various activities without time pressure: gym, dancing, tennis and they are never a struggle to get them around. We go around to the park near the river for an early morning walk and we like the beaches as well so there are plenty of things I can do around here I could only think about doing in the city’ he answers.

Dr Gupta and his family has also fallen in love with the Taree community – ‘meeting people around, I think I have fallen in love with the people around here they are so friendly’ he says. And although only planning to stay for one year, his family have jelled very nicely with the community and, according to Krishan, our kids love the school, love their teachers and we haven’t ever thought about leaving this place’.

Dr Krishan Gupta loves his work and loves where he lives.

He loves Taree. And so does his family.
